Stick to the point

Saw this great cartoon today and it neatly sums up a lot of proposals. Too many lose sight of what is important to the reader – namely, what are they buying from you, how much is it, how and when do they get it, who else uses or benefits from it and finally what the return on investment is. Answer these and that’s a winning sales proposal! Too much waffle and you will end up confusing the reader and potential customer, as well as wasting your time writing it all.

Doing our bit for charity

DocumentGENie assisted a charity today by helping them with the documents they send out for funding. York and District Mind work to alleviate mental distress and they offer information and support, counselling, befriending, support groups and advocacy to the residents of York and District.

We provided them with a simple GENie system that they can use to quickly and easily generate funding application documents, freeing up time which they can use elsewhere.

Updated Security – Ensuring the safety of our users at all times

As part of our ongoing commitment to the highest levels of security for our users, we will be upgrading our security keys for ProposalGENie shortly from 1024–bit RSA keys to 2048-bit RSA keys. There is nothing to do on your part, this upgrade will be automatic. This is the beauty of having ProposalGENie as a cloud computing application – all upgrades, backups and other IT related activities are taken care of by us.

This change and the timing is in line with industry best practices to ensure the highest level of security as well as convenience for our customers. This change is an industry wide initiative, the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), has recommended transitioning over to the 2048 bit keys by the end of 2010.

New Website

Today is the day our new website has gone live. We have given the site a bit of a face lift and increased the product information that is available, together with some detailed case studies on a few of our customers.

The new site also allows you to sign up for “GENius” – our newsletter that is sent out, packed full of useful sales tips and research that we have found.

MS Word tip – quickly change case

EVER TYPED EVERYTHING IN CAPS BY MISTAKE? In Word you can quickly toggle through the different “case options” for text by highlighting the relevant bit of text and pressing SHIFT and ”F3″.
